Keystone Patch Panel

A 1U keystone patch panel for our 10-inch rack, for four to ten jacks.

The jacks actually click in. A keystone jack’s flange bears on the front face and its latch catches the back, and that latch is dimensioned for a 1.5–1.6 mm panel — which is why jacks will not seat in most printed patch panels, whose plates are 3 mm or more. This one is recessed from the front, so it is thick everywhere it needs to be and exactly 1.6 mm at the port, with a stepped lead-in cut into that wall and open air behind for the latch to spring into. The plate is 4.6 mm everywhere else, and the 11.5 mm margins above and below the port row carry the bending, so it does not flex when you pull a cable. No rib field on the back — a rib would reach behind the front plane and cost the panel the bottom rack unit, where the base plate fills the first 9 mm.

Choose: four to ten ports. The plate is 4.6 mm and the latch wall 1.6 mm — the middle of the range keystone jacks are dimensioned for, and not ours to let you mis-set.

You supply the jacks. There are a dozen makes, each dearer than this panel, and anyone fitting a patch panel already owns the ones their cable is terminated to.

One piece. Prints rear-face down: the recesses open upward, so nothing bridges.
