Badge Panel, 7.5-inch

Description
A vented 1U panel with your own words raised on it, for our 7.5-inch rack, generated to that frame’s own dimensions. The part that says whose rack this is.
Choose: up to 19 characters, how tall the letters stand, and whether they print in the panel’s colour or a second one. Then the vent: its pattern, hole size and density, and the border. Leave the text empty and you get a plain vented panel.
Fewer millimetres, same letters. The panel is 190.5 mm wide rather than 254, so a long name is set smaller here than on the wider rack: we work out the largest the letters can be for the words you typed and the smallest they may be before a stroke drops under our 0.8 mm minimum wall, and keep them between the two. A name that needs more room than this panel has comes out at the size that fits, not cropped.
Two colours, one printer. On the two-colour finish the lettering is its own piece in its own filament, and it beds into a solid patch of the panel rather than onto the vent grid — so the letters land on material, not on holes. The vent grid keeps clear of the patch, dropping whole holes round it, and every hole left is still on its grid.
Letters stand proud, and that is deliberate. Sunk lettering cannot hold the middle of an “o” or an “a” — the island has nothing to attach to — so it comes out as a filled blob. Raised letters keep their counters and read cleanly from across a room.
Mounting: six 10 x 7 mm slots, three per side, onto the M6 inserts in the front posts of the 7.5-inch frame. It will not fit the 10-inch rack — that is a different panel, same part, listed separately.
